Monitoring Settings
Allmonitoringoptionsareenabledbydefault.Youdonotneedtoenablethemandyoudonot
needtospecifytheswitchesyouwanttomonitor.However,forRASMServicestoreceivetrap
datafromRoamAboutswitches,SNMPnotificationsmustbeenabledontheswitches.
Tostartgatheringdatafor
monitoring,deployyourconfigurationtothenetwork.Forinformation
aboutdeployingyourconfiguration,referto“DeployYourConfiguration”onpage 7‐2.
RASM Access Control
Youcancreateauseraccountwithadministrator,provision,ormonitorprivileges.Referto
Table 1‐8forprivilegedefinitions.Fordetails,referto“RestrictingAccesstoRASM”inthe
“GettingStarted”sectionoftheRoamAboutSwitchManagerInterfaceReferenceGuide.
Toconfigureaccesscontrol:
1. SelectServices>SetupfromtheRASM
maintoolbar.RASMServicesisdisplayedinyour
defaultWebbrowser.
2. SelectAccessControlintheleftpane.
3. ClickEnablelogin‐required.Enterausernameandpasswordforadministrativeaccess.Click
OK.(Youmustconfigureanadminaccountbeforeyoucanconfigureprovisioningor
monitoringusers.)
4. Enterthenameunder
theAddUsersection.
5. SelectAdministrator,ProvisioningUser,orMonitoringUserintheRolefield.
6. Enterthepassword.Re‐enterthepassword.
7. ClickSave.ThenewaccountwillappearintheAuthorizedUserssection.
8. Toremoveanaccount,clickDelete.
9. Toresetapassword,clickEdit.
