This verifies a device's
ability to act as a standby
router in the event of
failure of an active router
using VRRP standards in
a multivendor network.
For this test, the
Enterasys Matrix N DFE
and Matrix X Secure
Core Router achieved
interoperability using
VRRP with participating
switches from 3Com,
Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco,
Extreme Networks,
Foundry Networks, IBM
Nortel and HP.
IP Multicasting --
PIM Sparse Mode
This feature was only
supported on the
Enterasys Matrix X
Secure Core Router. This
test verified its ability to
update the multicast routing
table and to delivers multicast
packets to the appropriate
receivers via PIM SM in a
multivendor network using PIM
SM with switches and routers
from 3Com, Alcatel-Lucent,
Cisco, Extreme Networks, and
Foundry Networks.
