Considerations Prior to Installation

Wheninstallingtheswitch,notethefollowing:

•Beforestartingtheinstallation procedure,notifythenetworkadministratorofthe

installation.

•Followtheinstallationprocedures intheorderaspresentedinthisguide.

•DonotconnecttheswitchtothenetworkuntilyouhaveestablishedthecorrectIP

address.

Required Tools

APhillipsscrewdriverisrequiredtoinstalltheswitchintoarack.

Unpacking the Switch

Unpacktheswitchas follows:

1. Opentheboxandremovethepackingmaterialprotectingthesw itch.

2. VerifythatthecontentsofthecartoncontainstheitemslistedinTable 3‐1.

3. Removethetapesealonthenon‐conductivebagtoremovetheswitch.

4. Performavisualinspectionoftheswitchforany

signsofphysicaldamage.Contact
